Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 27, 2026
Sports Snaps (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Sports Snaps mobile application and website at mysportssnaps.com (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy is available online at mysportssnaps.com/privacy.
By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address. We use Supabase for authentication and send magic-link sign-in emails. We do not store passwords.
Photos and athlete information
The core function of the Service requires you to upload photos. We also collect the athlete name, sport, and pose preferences you provide. Original and AI-enhanced photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage (Supabase Storage) and are accessible only to your account.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank account details. We retain only the last four digits of your card and your billing address as returned by Stripe for display purposes.
Usage and analytics data
We use PostHog to collect anonymised usage events (e.g., which features are used, error rates, and session flow). PostHog does not receive your photos. You can opt out of analytics by contacting us at privacy@mysportssnaps.com.
Crash reports
We use Sentry to capture crash reports and error diagnostics. Sentry may collect device type, operating system version, app version, stack traces, and limited device state at the time of a crash. Sentry does not receive your photos or payment information.
2. Your Responsibility for Photo Rights
You must own or have the legal right to use every photo you upload.
By uploading a photo to Sports Snaps you represent and warrant that:
- You are the photographer or owner of the photo, or you have the explicit permission of the photographer or copyright holder to use it.
- You have the consent of every identifiable adult depicted in the photo, and — where applicable — the consent of a parent or legal guardian for any minor depicted.
- Uploading and processing the photo does not violate any applicable law, third-party copyright, right of publicity, right of privacy, or any other right.
Do not upload photos taken by a school, team photographer, or commercial photography service without their written permission. Those photos are copyrighted by the photographer.
We reserve the right to remove content that appears to violate these requirements and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe third-party rights.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the Service — processing your photo enhancements, fulfilling print orders, and delivering digital downloads.
- Authentication — verifying your identity and keeping your account secure.
- Communications — sending transactional emails (order confirmations, enhancement completion) and, with your permission, marketing updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- Push notifications — notifying you when an AI enhancement completes (requires your permission on your device).
- Improving the Service — analysing aggregated, anonymised usage data to fix bugs and develop new features.
- Legal compliance — meeting tax, fraud-prevention, and other legal obligations.
4. AI Photo Processing (Replicate)
AI enhancements are performed by Replicate, a third-party AI platform. When you request an enhancement, your original photo is transmitted securely to Replicate for processing. Replicate may retain inputs and outputs for a limited period subject to their own privacy policy. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — Supabase (database and storage), Replicate (AI), Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), and print-fulfillment partners. These providers receive only the minimum data needed to perform their service and are contractually required to protect it.
- Shareable photo links — if you choose to share a photo link, anyone with that link can view the enhanced photo and place an order. Shared links do not reveal your email address or account details.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sports Snaps, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, on the condition that the receiving party honors this Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and photos as long as your account is active. Original and enhanced photos remain accessible in your account until you delete them or close your account. After account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or tax purposes (typically up to seven years for financial records).
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take your data protection seriously.
8. Children’s Privacy
Sports Snaps is intended for use by parents, guardians, and coaches — not by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@mysportssnaps.com and we will promptly delete it.
Photos submitted to the Service may depict minor athletes. By uploading such a photo, the account holder (a parent, guardian, or authorized adult) represents that they have the authority to authorize the collection and processing described in this policy for that minor.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us.
- Opt-out of analytics — contact us to disable PostHog tracking for your account.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR): Our lawful bases for processing are contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (analytics, security), and consent where required. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any right, email privacy@mysportssnaps.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The Sports Snaps website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and collect analytics data. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Effective date” at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
